Artist

Working mainly with acrylic, metallic pigments and resin, Toni creates luminous landscapes inspired by the quiet beauty of New Zealand’s coastlines and wide horizons. Her work explores light, atmosphere and the shifting colours of dawn and dusk.
Although largely self-taught, creativity has always been part of Toni’s life. She began painting seriously in 2016 after completing a short online course with Pennsylvania State University, and three years later became a full-time artist.
Toni’s paintings are held in private collections throughout New Zealand and overseas.
About Toni’s work
Toni’s style loosely falls within the style of Magical Realism, where familiar landscapes are presented with a heightened sense of atmosphere and light. Inspired by the colours of sunrise and sunset, she creates expressive horizons where land, sea and sky gently merge.
Each painting begins with a loose idea before evolving intuitively as layers of acrylic paint and metallic pigments flow across the surface. Toni guides the paint’s movement while allowing it to settle and blend naturally, creating subtle textures and luminous depth.
The result is a balance between control and chance — atmospheric landscapes that feel both peaceful and quietly magical.
