There are 10 stops on the Waipa Creative Trail with 11 artists and creatives opening their studios and galleries.

Caroline Peacocke – Painter & Printmaker
Caroline has been painting for many years and has also spent nearly 13 years tutoring experimental printmaking classes at Artspost / WSA in Hamilton.
Most of her work is two-dimensional, including paintings and prints, though some paintings incorporate raised relief elements.
Caroline joins the Waipā Creative Trail for the first time this year, and we’re thrilled. She’ll also be leading an exhibition for the Trail. More details on that to come.

Diane Scott – Abstract Painter
Based in Cambridge, Diane is joining the Waipā Creative Trail for the first time this year.
She is an abstract expressionist painter whose work typically features large-scale acrylic paintings incorporating strong texture and movement.
Some of her paintings are inspired by nature. She’s drawn to the movement and subtle patterns found outdoors, translating those impressions into textured abstract works.
Urban art also provides inspiration. While Diane doesn’t describe herself as an urban artist, she is drawn to its expressive, “no rules” approach and incorporates bold strokes, texture, and imperfections into her paintings.
During the Trail, see Diane’s large-scale abstract works up close and explore the textures, layers, and movement that shape her paintings.

Toni Kingstone – Acrylic & Resin Artist
A firm favourite from the last Waipā Creative Trail, Toni is joining us again this year.
Toni works predominantly with acrylic, metallic pigments, and resin to create flowing abstract seascapes and landscapes that capture the light of dusk and dawn.
Her process begins with an initial concept, but each piece is guided by the movement of the paint itself. She works intuitively, using action, palette knives, and brushwork to add or remove elements as the piece evolves.
A signature feature of her work is the ‘liquid glass’ resin finish, which enhances colour, adds depth, and creates the effect of light reflecting across sand and water.
During the Trail, visitors will have the opportunity to view works in progress, ask questions, and see her inspiring studio.
