After taking a beginner’s pottery class at the Waikato Society of Potters, Alex’s creative spark was well and truly ignited!
And it came at a great time.
“I credit pottery with helping me get out of a severe period of depression and putting me back on the path of valuing myself and my contribution to the world,” explains Alex.
“Clay, as it does for so many people, sparked an absolute love for making and self-expression in me and it helped me become a ceramic artist.”
7 years on, and fuelled by an insatiable curiosity and persistence, Alex has developed her signature style of Nerikomi ceramics. Combining function and beauty, her colourful pieces are instantly recognisable and treasured by customers across New Zealand and worldwide.
